Privacy Policy

Last updated 19 August 2026

The short version: we do not collect anything. The app has no accounts, no servers, and no analytics. Everything it knows stays on your device or in your own iCloud.

Excalibur AI TV is published by SmartMax Software, Inc. This policy explains what the app does with your information. It is written to satisfy Apple's App Store Review Guidelines on data collection and storage, and Apple's requirement that every app offering an in-app purchase link to a privacy policy.

1. Information we collect

None.

We operate no servers, and the app sends us no information of any kind. There is no Excalibur account, no sign-up, no email address, and no login. We cannot identify you, and we hold no record that you have ever used the app.

The app contains no analytics, no advertising identifier, no crash-reporting service, and no third-party software development kit that reports to anyone. This is declared in the app's privacy manifest, which lists no collected data types and no tracking domains.

We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell or share any information, because we have none to sell or share.

2. Information stored on your device

The app stores the following on the Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Vision Pro it is installed on. None of it reaches us.

  • Your provider details. The playlist address or Xtream Codes server, username and password for the IPTV service you subscribe to. Passwords are held in the Apple Keychain, never in ordinary app storage and never in a log file.
  • Your channel list, downloaded from your provider, and any guide listings it supplies.
  • What you have watched, so the app can offer to resume something and can put channels you actually use near the front. This never leaves your devices.
  • Your favorites, settings and preferences, including the PIN for the adult-content lock.
  • Recordings and the live rewind buffer, written to the app's own cache on the device and deleted when the quota is reached or you remove them.
  • Your AI provider key, if you choose to use the optional AI features. Held in the Keychain.

You can erase all of it at any time by deleting the app.

3. iCloud

Some of the above syncs between your own Apple devices using Apple's iCloud, so that adding a provider on one Apple TV does not mean typing it again on another. This uses your personal iCloud account. It does not pass through us, and we cannot read it.

What syncs: your provider accounts and their passwords, your favorites, your watch progress, your AI provider key, and the date your free trial started.

Your provider passwords and AI key sync through iCloud Keychain, which is end-to-end encrypted by Apple. The rest syncs through Apple's iCloud key-value storage. If you turn iCloud off in system settings, the app keeps working and simply stops syncing.

4. Your IPTV provider

The app is a player. It does not supply, resell, host or index any channels or content.

You bring a playlist or an account from a service you already pay for. When the app plays a channel, it connects directly from your device to that provider using the credentials you entered.

Your provider will therefore see your IP address, what you watch and when, and anything else they choose to record, exactly as they would with any other player. That relationship is between you and them, and is governed by their privacy policy, not this one.

5. Optional AI features

The app has optional features that use a large language model: describing what is on screen, suggesting something to watch, and answering questions about your channels.

They are switched off unless you supply your own API key from Anthropic or OpenAI, and they do nothing without one.

If you enable them, requests go directly from your device to whichever provider you chose, authenticated with your own key. They do not pass through us and we never see them. Depending on the feature you use, a request may include:

  • the names, groups and guide listings of channels in your lineup;
  • a still image captured from the video currently playing, when you ask the app what is on screen;
  • a short summary of which kinds of channel you tend to watch.

That data is then handled under your agreement with that provider. You are billed by them directly. Removing your key in Settings stops all of it immediately.

6. Purchases

Purchases and the free trial are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, payment details or billing address. The app receives only a confirmation from Apple that a purchase is valid and current.

Purchase records are held by Apple. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your Apple account settings, not by us. Refunds are requested from Apple.

7. Children

The app is not directed at children and we knowingly collect nothing from anyone, including children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age where you live. Because the app plays whatever channels your provider carries, it includes a PIN lock for adult content, which is stored only on your device.

8. Your rights

Data-protection laws including the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export or delete the personal information a company holds about you.

We hold none.

So there is nothing for us to give you, correct, or delete, and nothing we could sell. To remove everything the app has stored, delete the app from your device. To remove what has synced, sign out of or clear iCloud for the app in system settings. For data held by your IPTV provider, your AI provider, or Apple, please contact them directly.

9. Security

Credentials and API keys are stored in the Apple Keychain, protected by the device's own encryption and, where synced, by Apple's end-to-end encrypted iCloud Keychain. The app writes no password to its log file or to ordinary storage.

Whether the connection to your IPTV provider is encrypted depends on the address your provider gives you. Many IPTV services still publish plain http endpoints, and if yours does, that traffic is not encrypted in transit. That is a property of your provider's service, not something the app can change. Prefer an https playlist address where your provider offers one.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it, and the current version will always be at this address. If the app ever begins collecting anything at all, we will say so here before it does, and update the app's privacy disclosures on the App Store accordingly.
